Graff Diamonds, owned by London-based jeweler Lawrence Graff and renowned for handing some of the most important diamonds on the market today, had warm words of praise for the 2011 Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition, which closed Sunday, the Peninsula Qatar website reports.

Graff has shown its diamonds for the last seven of the eight years the Doha expo has been held.

Clive Golanski, Senior Executive of Graff, said that each year his diamond company brought "better pieces" to the Doha exhibition and had by now established a "long history with the Qatari people."

This year's event featured 300 diamond, gemstone, and jewelry exhibitors (compared to 250 in 2010), 37 of whom were showing at Doha for the first time.

Some 50,000 visitors, mainly industry buyers, attended the show.
