In 2009 The Israeli Diamond Industry will once again have a major presence at the JCK Show – Las Vegas 2009. The Israel Diamond Pavilion, hosted by the Israel Diamond Institute Group of Companies (IDI) will feature 22 exhibitors, with an additional 21 Israeli companies exhibiting throughout the show.
The JCK Show is one of the most important annual events for the Israeli Diamond Industry since the United States is Israel’s leading market for polished diamonds. Last year Israel exported $2.7 billion in polished diamonds to the U.S. out of a total of $6.2 billion.
The Israeli exhibitors are cautiously optimistic in their expectations of the show. Pinto Diamonds’ owner Boaz Pinto said, “We’re not expecting this year’s JCK to be like last year’s show, but we do expect to do business there. In the past few weeks we are seeing a slight recovery in the markets, and we expect that spirit to carry over into the show.” Pinto said he expects most of his regular customers to attend the show.
Fancy color specialists, Leibish & Co.'s CEO Yossi Polnauer said that although the weaker market caused a drop in demand for large yellow stones at the beginning of the year, there is now a moderate increase in demand in all sizes which he expects to see at the show. He also expects other colors to sell well: "We're likely to see a rise in demand in the special, rare colors – pink, green blue and red. More and more people are buying these stones as an investment.”
The Israel Diamond Pavilion will be located in the upper level at booths 900 – 3100. IDI will be represented at stand 2142 -2144 and in its Image booth at 5049, adjacent to Diamond Avenue. You can access a mini-site with the full list of Israeli exhibitors.
IDI recently launched an ambitious strategic marketing initiative “Together Works”, with the first stage being dedicated to the U.S. market. The campaign’s visual element is the traditional handshake, and it is aimed at demonstrating the Israeli Diamond Industry’s commitment to its international trading partners. In the United States the “Together Works” program introduces an exclusive B2B service – a 24/7 toll-free number 1-888-42-WORKS – through which ongoing and new clients can place their immediate diamond needs. These are uploaded in real time to IDI’s portal site, and all Israeli diamond companies receive text messages with the clients’ needs. This enables the Israeli industry to provide an unparalleled and immediate response to diamond demand in the U.S.
IDI will launch a further stage in the “Together Works” program with a press conference at JCK Vegas, to be held on May 31, 2009 at 1:00 pm at the Bellini Ballroom, room 2104, Venetian Resort Hotel Casino.
