Diamond, Gemstone Jewelry Expected to Sell for $60M at Sotheby's Auction

Sotheby's Hong Kong is preparing a sale of diamond and gemstone jewelry expected to bring in some $60 million.
The jewelry – scheduled to be auctioned on April 6 – has been put on display. One of the standout pieces is a pair of Harry Winston diamond pendant earrings, featuring two 14-carat D color pear-shaped diamonds, which carry an estimated price of $4.8 million.
Other notable jewels include a jadeite bead necklace with a ruby, sapphire, and diamond clasp, estimated to sell for $4.5 million, and a 27.67-carat ruby, recovered from Burma's famed Mogok mines. Sotheby's estimates that the ring could fetch up to $2.5 million.
