Las Vegas Metro Police are searching for a suspect believed to have stolen $500,000 worth of diamonds from a local jeweler.
KTNV reports that the suspect, described as a clean-cut white male in his 20s, visited the store days before the theft and even sent an e-mail to follow up his inquiries.
Store owner Mordecai Yerushalmi told police that when the suspect returned to the store on Saturday, he asked to see the same pieces of diamond jewelry. When the sales clerk took them out, the unarmed man scooped them up and ran out.
The theft was caught on the shop's security cameras and Yerushalmi said that they had a "beautiful" picture of his face.
According to a Metro Police spokesman, the area hasn't seen a particular rise in jewelry theft lately, but the value of the stolen diamonds made this crime noteworthy.
