World Federation of Diamond Bourses Presidents' Meeting to Host African Leaders

Former president of South Africa, Thabo Mbeki, and Kimberley Process Chair Mathieu Yamba of the Democratic Republic of Congo, will be guests of honor at the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) 2011 Presidents' Meeting. They will address the Gala Dinner of the Presidents' Meeting which takes place April 11-13 at the Jumeirah Meydan Hotel in Dubai.
Committee meetings will be held on April 11, with the Presidents' Meeting official opening session on April 12. The session will address the role of Dubai in the global diamond industry, and feature a presentation by industry analyst Chaim Even Zohar entitled "Africa Changing the World Diamond Scene."
In their invitation to the presidents of the WFDB-affiliated bourses, Dubai Multi Commodities Centre Executive Chairman, Ahmed Bin Sulayem, and Dubai Diamond Exchange Chairman Peter Meeus said that in less than 10 years Dubai had become one of the world's leading international diamond centers.
WFDB President Avi Paz thanked the DMCC for hosting the event in Dubai. "Dubai is a fantastic venue. It is a fast-growing diamond trading centre and distribution hub, so holding a WFDB event at the home of the Dubai Diamond Exchange has been long coming," he said.
