Alrosa Diamond Producer's 2010 Net Income Exceeds Pre-Crisis Level

Alrosa, Russia's state-owned diamond producer, saw revenue of $3.4 billion in 2010, 1.5 times that of 2009, according to numbers published by the company this weekend.
Gross profit reached $1.22 billion, and the company's net income stood at $308.4 million, 5.6 times the company's net income from 2008, prior to the global financial crisis.
Alrosa increased its diamond production from 32.7 million carats in 2009 to 34.33 million carats, compared to De Beers' 32.99 million carats at 13.8 million carats and 2.88 million carats from Rio Tinto and BHP Billion, respectively, for 2010.
