The diamond mining joint venture between De Beers and the Namibian government, Namdeb, will restart diamond operations at the beginning of July, after closing mines last month because of weak demand for diamonds, Tom Tweedy, De Beers' spokesman, said yesterday, Bloomberg reported.
Its six South African diamond mines had been "open and producing" at reduced levels from January, Bloomberg said.
