The design of the building is in a conservative, modernistic, present-day type, depending for artificial stone school effect upon the proper arrangement of the masses and an honest, logical use of materials. Construction of the new Gallatin County High School involved consideration of a maze of factors such as education use, resistance to earthquakes, durability, convenience, strength, appearance and special use objectives.Meaningless ornamentation has been avoided. The Main Street front has been made up of artificial stone and concrete. This stone was manufactured in Bozeman. Certain lines have been brought out by the application of chrome bars and recessed lines in the concrete.
