Basalt man unable to escape the net of justice

This basalt man was arrested for his confessing Tuesday to breaking into 10 vehicles in the Basalt area. Basalt police received three complaints earlier this week that vehicles had been broken into. Taken were such items as wallets, car keys and ski jackets worth as much as $350. He also faces separate misdemeanor counts of theft and unauthorized use of a financial transaction device.Using a stolen debit card, he allegedly made charges of $95.80 and $5.41 for such items as Camel cigarettes and a Playboy magazine. He also allegedly tried to make a purchase of $260 �� $200 of which was for a gift card,but that charge was rejected, police said.
