Twenty thousand dollars from the Internazionale Marmi e Macchine to support the campaign by Italian companies in defence of granite in the United States.
Following a meeting with the most important granite companies worried about the media attacks in the United States whereby consumers are receiving negative reports as regards the use of granite, the Internazionale Marmi e Macchine (IMM) wasted no time and the Board of Administrators immediately approved the unscheduled funding of twenty thousand dollars to support a promotional campaign with the correct information as to the characteristics of the material.
"The Italian companies operating in this industry are very worried about what has been happening over the last few weeks in the United States where there is currently a campaign underway declaring that granite is actually bad for your health. This message jeopardises the entire sector and affects all producers all over the world, including Italian companies. In order to fight this very well organised media campaign?Csays the IMM Chairman Giorgio Bianchini commenting on the CDA decision-very substantial funds are necessary since a marketing project is required not only to contrast the wrong or distorted information but also to relaunch the Made in Italy products in the United States which is fundamental for Italian companies."
Obviously the companies themselves are also working on strategies in defence of Italian products, channelling substantial amounts through the Marble Institute of America to correctly communicate their message "Granite is safe" to emphasise the safety of granite, a concept that up to very recently seemed to be accepted by everyone in all continents yet today is being questioned with serious consequences for the entire stone system. This is being done through all media from trade reviews to newspapers, from radio to tv, from Internet to indirect communication methods.
