Prince William's aunt, the late Princess Diana's sister Lady Sarah McCorquodale, will wear her sister's diamond earrings to William's April 29 wedding to Kate Middleton, UK news outlets report.
The earrings – which are a pair of pear-shaped diamonds each surrounded by close to 50 smaller diamonds, belonged to Diana and Sarah's mother, Frances Shand Kydd. Diana wore them at her first official appearance with Prince Charles after the couple's engagement was announced.
The diamonds have been removed from a traveling exhibition that celebrates the late Princess of Wales' life. Diana's brother, Earl Spencer, founded Diana: A Celebration in 1998, and the exhibit include 28 of the princess' dresses, two bejeweled tiaras, and other family heirloom jewelry.
