Last Friday Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics published the Consumer Price Index (CPI). In a statement issued by the CBS it noted a rise of 1% in April. The figure was in line with analysts’ expectations of 1-1.2%.
The CBS noted that over the past 12 months, inflation as measured by the Consumer Price Index was up 3.1%, near the government’s top limit of the 1-3% target range.
In an in-depth analysis, the CBS noted that almost all components of the CPI, except cucumbers and bread, rose.
The clothing component was up 3.3%, automobile fuel and oil was up 8.3%, and the domestic and overseas vacation component was up 7.8%, due to the Passover holiday in April.
