The government must strongly promote the new energy equipment and related industries to improve low-carbon development, according to Su Bo, deputy minister of MIIT.

He said there are three main ways for the industry to be promoted. One is to develop high efficient clean coal electric generators, another is to develop advanced electric delivery techniques, such as ultra high-voltage, and the third is to develop the smart grid.
