The London Diamond Bourse is dedicating its next Annual General Meeting, scheduled to be held at the bourse on May 11, 2011, to the memory of late bourse president Freddy Hager, who passed away suddenly earlier this month.

Hager had been a member of the diamond trade since 1974 and was elected president of the London Diamond Bourse in 1991. During his time he oversaw the merger of the London Diamond Bourse and the London Diamond Club.

Hager was also an active member of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses and is considered the "spiritual father" of the WFDB Mark, the organization's better business symbol.
