Israel's Sarin Technologies has shipped a Galaxy 1000 diamond scanning system to Shrenuj Group's jewelry manufacturing operation in Botswana, the company reports.
According to Shrenuj, the Galaxy 1000 from Sarin – which develops, manufactures, and sells cutting-edge analysis and production technology for the diamond industry – is intended to bridge the technology gap between it and other similar operations.
Sarin's David Block explained that the Galaxy allows diamond manufacturers to map a diamond's inclusions accurately and quickly.
Shrenuj Chairman and Managing Director Shreyas Doshi noted that planning is the most skills-intensive process in diamond manufacturing and that bringing in the Galaxy scanning system would help reinforce his company's commitment to local beneficiation.
Doshi added that the Galaxy would improve accuracy and productivity.
