The Seattle Storm, 2010 WNBA champions, decided to partner with another local powerhouse to design the team's championship rings – the online diamond and diamond jewelry retailer Blue Nile.
Last week, Seattle Storm players Sue Bird and Lauren Jackson attended a ceremony unveiling the design of the rings, which will be awarded to the team members in a ceremony on June 4, the day the Storm plays its opening game of the 2011/2012 season.

The Arena ring – Blue Nile's first jewelry design for a professional sports team – is crafted from white gold and 1.3 carats of micro-pave diamonds. The top of the ring depicts the "S" in Storm surrounded by 2010, the year of the championship. Each player's name and the WNBA logo appear on one side of the ring, while the other is decorated with the WNBA trophy and the stats from the Storm's last season – 28 wins and only six losses.
