Gemological Science International (GSI), one of the largest US gemological laboratories with headquarters in New York's Diamond District, has opened a satellite office in the Diamond Tower in Ramat Gan.
GSI plans to expand the services available at the Ramat Gan office into a full-scale gemological laboratory like the ones the company operates in New York and Mumbai.
According to GSI CEO Mark Gershburg, the satellite in Ramat Gan – the heart of Israel's diamond trade – positioned the firm in three of the top global diamond trading centers. Gershburg said that the expansion would better enable GSI to meet the needs of its international clientele.
Gershburg added that the increased need for lab services was a "very positive sign," not only for GSI but for the diamond industry as a whole.
