A pink diamond ring was the top-selling lot at Heritage Auctions' recent New York Signature Fine Jewelry Auction.
The platinum ring, set with a marquise-cut diamond with a color grade of Fancy Light Brownish-Pink, was eventually knocked down for $358,500.
Other pieces of diamond jewelry also made strong showings at the sale. One diamond and platinum ring sold for over $179,000, while another ring featuring an emerald-cut diamond set in platinum fetched $119,500. A diamond, platinum, and gold ring sold for $131,450, and a yellow diamond and platinum ring brought in over $101,000.
"We saw some very good prices across the board, especially on diamonds," said Jill Burgum, Director of Fine Jewelry at Heritage Auctions. "It all points positively to signs of a recovering market."
