Bharatbook.com has announced the addition of a new report "China Synthetic Diamond Industry Report, 2010-2011" to their huge collection of market research reports.About 88% of the global diamond monocrystal capacity is concentrated in China. China masters the upstream diamond monocrystal synthesis, while developed countries focus on the production of downstream polycrystalline composite materials and finished products.
From 2001 to 2010, the average CAGR of Chinese synthetic diamond output and sales volume was about 16%. In 2010, Chinese synthetic diamond output reached 6.22 billion carats. In the next few years, the demand for Chinese Synthetic Diamond will grow at over 10% annually.
In recent years, the average CAGR of the export of Chinese synthetic diamond has been 37%. With capacity and price advantages, the export of Chinese synthetic diamond and related products will see growth.
With synthesis of cubic press developed independently, Chinese synthetic diamond companies are superior to European and American counterparts in technology, and have gone through the stage of disordered competition. At present, Chinese market is dominated by three leading companies, namely Nanyang Zhongnan Diamond, Henan Huanghe Whirlwind Co., Ltd and Zhengzhou Sino-Crystal Diamond.
The three enterprises firmly control the synthesis of upstream monocrystal materials, and try to extend to downstream products. At the end of 2010, Henan Huanghe Whirlwind Co., Ltd planned to adopt PDC technology developed by itself and 194 sets of advanced production & auxiliary equipment to set up the production line of geological drilling grade superhard composite materials with the annual output of 12 million. Zhengzhou Sino-Crystal Diamond completed preliminary research and development of many types of products; especially in the field of diamond wire for polysilicon cutting in photovoltaic industry, it has completed the trial production, and will conduct large-scale production in 2013.
Despite a variety of diamond tools made in China are widely used in many industries, the technology is still backward compared with similar foreign products. Especially in the fields of polycrystalline composite films and diamond tool products, although the demand in the domestic market is huge, China is dependent on the imported ones.
