The International Diamond Manufacturers Association (IDMA) sent a congratulatory message to Maurice Fischler upon being appointed president of De Beurs voor Diamanthandel - the Antwerp Diamond Bourse (ADB) - earlier this month.
"The IDMA membership congratulates Maurice Fischler upon taking up the helm at the ADB and upon stepping in the footsteps of his immediate predecessor, the late Artur Beller, and those of his own father, Bram Fischler, who served as ADB president from 1986 until his death in 2003," said Ronnie VanderLinden, IDMA Secretary General.
"We recognize the Fischler family's long-time contribution to the diamond industry and trade in Belgium, as well as in the international realm," VanderLinden continued.
"In addition to the bourse, Maurice will probably also lead the Federation of Belgian Diamond Bourses (FBDB). His cousin, Stephane Fischler, is IDMA Treasurer and also serves as Chairman of the International Diamond Council, the joint committee of IDMA and the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB). We all wish Maurice a successful term at the ADB," VanderLinden concluded.
