Laurelton Diamonds, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tiffany & Co that is responsible for sourcing and purchasing rough diamonds for the venerable jewelry house, has purchased a Galaxy 1000 inclusion mapping system from Israel's Sarin Technologies for its diamond planning facility in Antwerp.
Mark Hanna, Laurelton VP, said that his company strove for the "highest quality and value" in its polished diamonds, which required it to gain as much information as possible about the diamonds when the stones are still in the planning stage. "We believe the information provided by the Galaxy 1000 system will enhance our planning process," Hanna said.
Sarin CEO Uzi Levami said the company, which develops, manufactures, and markets diamond mapping and production technology, was "honored" to have been selected by Laurelton Diamonds.
