500 marble factories affected due to operation in Buner

President Marble Factory Association (MFA) Mati-ur- Rehman has said that 500 marble factories have been affected by the unrest in the area rendering 180,000 people unemployed.
Addressing a press conference here at Peshawar Press Club on Monday, Mati-ur- Rehman said that 50 percent of Marble was being produced in Buner in around 500 marble factories were damaged. About 180,000 people were working in these mobile factories, which have stopped working. President MFA demanded of the govt to write off their loans. He said losses to the factory owners are estimated to be around Rs.500m.
He appealed to the government to ensure cash compensation to the affected people and to take necessary measures for the safety of the district so as to pave way for the honorable return of the people and to help them restart their businesses.
