Grinding Force with Adaptive Control of CNC Cams Grinder

In order to build grinding force’s adaptive control system for cams grinder, this paper’s study includes the method of the adaptive control in grinding, the model of grinding force, the design of the controller, using MATLAB to simulate and analyze the grinding control system, and so on. The result is fuzzy control adapts for grinding control. In Chapter 3, after simplifying and equating the structure of the grinding carriage to the typical structure, mechanics method is used to build the model of grinding force, which is adapt to this CNC cams grinder. This process and method also can be used for reference in other grinders. In Chapter 4, the controller’s design uses the traditional method as PID and artificial intelligent method as fuzzy control. The method bases on the constant of time-summation is used to set PID controller’s parameters. The fuzzy control rules are established by expert’s experience. In Chapter 5, MATLAB is used to simulate the control system of the grinding force, and build Simulink model of PID controller and fuzzy controller. Through compared with the result of the simulation, the effect of fuzzy control is better than PID control, and fuzzy control is adapted for grinding control.
