Eva Peron's Diamond Jewelry Found in Milan, Italian Police Say

Stolen diamond jewelry worth $9 million that once belonged to the former first lady of Argentina, Eva Peron, was discovered this week in a Milan hotel, Italian police report.
The jewels, which include a diamond tiara worth $5.75 million that Evita received from the King of the Netherlands in the 1950s; several rings; and diamond earrings, disappeared in December 2009 when a gang of robbers targeted a jewelry store in Valencia, Spain.

Last year, a Spanish court extended the arrest warrant for the robbery suspects to all of Europe and authorities apprehended one man, a Serb. Italian and Spanish police worked together to track down the stolen jewels.
In 2003, a diamond and ruby necklace that belonged to Eva Peron sold at auction for $410,000.
