It is reported that Steel Pipe Branch of China Steel Construction Society has recently issued the outline for the development of steel pipe industry during the 12th Five-Year Period.
According to the outline, by the end of the 12th Five-Year Plan, the steel pipe industry is slated to control steel pipe output in the range of 67 million tonnes to 75 million tonnes including 29 million tonnes to 32 million tonnes of seamless steel pipe and 38 million tonnes to 43 million tonnes of welded steel pipe, growing at an average annual rate of 3.0% to 5.4%.
The outline also stated that by the end of the 12th Five-Year Plan, the export volume of steel pipe will reach 10mln tonnes which accounts for 14% of the total steel pipe output, growing at an average annual rate of 9%. Furthermore, the total output of the top 20 enterprises by volume in steel pipe industry is aimed at taking up more than 60% of the aggregate steel pipe output with that of the top 10 enterprises accounting for 50%.
And during the 12th Five Year Plan, the energy consumption level of the hot rolled seamless steel pipe will reach that of the average of HR steel products achieving 100% recycling of the waste water& acid produced in the process of production and zero emission.
The problems exposed during the 11th Five-Year Plan. The outline reviewed the development history of domestic steel pipe industry during the 11th Five-Year Plan. In 2010, China steel pipe output hit 57.65 million tonnes up by 29.84 million tonnes or 107.30% from 2005 growing at an average annual rate of 15.69%.
Product structural adjustment also eyed significant progress, greatly supporting the relative downstream industries, especially the energy industry.
