2010 WNBA Champions the Seattle Storm have conferred a championship ring on basketball fan President Barack Obama, who said that the Seattle Storm set a good example for "young girls with big dreams."
The championship rings were created by online diamond retailer Blue Nile and feature the diamond company's stones set in white gold. Each ring features the name of the player or the president who receives it.
Blue Nile CEO Diane Irvine said that "an excited buzz ran through the office" when Blue Nile workers were informed that they would be crafting a diamond ring for the president.
"To say we are honored is an understatement; we are elated!" Irvine announced.
