At the beginning of this year, HRD Antwerp launched a new diamond certificate with a refined cut grade. The refined cut grade includes a more comprehensive analysis of cut as it is now assessed according to three parameters: Proportions, Polish and Symmetry. The refined grade features for the first time a finding of "Excellent".



In order to make the new guidelines available to the diamond industry, OGISystems has implemented the refined grading rules in the software of its products.

OGI’s products accompanied by HRD Refined Grading will allow manufacturers, dealers, retailers, and appraisers to predict a cut grade before their diamonds are sent to the HRD Gem Laboratory for grading services.

Megascope Grade diamonds uses the HRD cut grading system in order to obtain an estimated HRD cut grade.

Megascope-Recut recommends optimal re-cut options according to HRD tables for minimum loss of stone weight.

OGIRough assists in planning rough diamond cutting in order to gain optimal yield and instructions on the optimal way of finishing the diamond according HRD cut grade. It also includes 3D virtual cutting process, an OGI Systems patent.

All the existing OGI’s machines (Megascope, OGIMarker, CoMarker-S, CoMarker-P, OGIScanner, OGITender) can be modified to new HRD Refined Grading.
