Polished prices-diamonds Polished index improves in quiet trading

The main PolishedPrices index edged up slightly over the past week in quiet trading as the summer break nears.
The main PolishedPrices index opened up 0.7percent from the previous week on Monday at 171.4 points. The overall index is currently 39.3percent above its level of this time last year, and has gained 30.5percent since the start of the year.
One carat Fine and Mixed recovered after the previous weeks' losses, with Fine qualities surging 9percent on the week.
Commercial and Mixed 0.3 carats gained slightly over the past week. However, Commercial 0.5 carats lost some ground, falling 3percent.
