Arjav Diamonds (India) Private Limited will host an online rough diamond auction next month, taking its cue from the success of the India's first online rough diamond auction. The Surat-based company is a rough diamond selling arm of DTC sightholder Blue Star Group.

Registration for the auction opened on Monday. Stock can be viewed at Blue Star's Varachha facility from August 3 – 10. More than 60 lots of rough diamonds will be available, both of single stones and of assorted parcels. Some of the bigger stones are valued at more than $1 million.

Diamantaires from Israel, Mumbai, Surat and Belgium are expected to participate in the online auction.

In its first auction, the group sold about $13.5 million worth of rough diamonds; this time, diamonds ranging from 5 carats to over 100 carats are expected to fetch some $28 million.
