Diamond Broker Succumbs to Bombing Injury

One more person has died as a result of the wounds he sustained in the bombing in Mumbai's Opera House area on July 13. The death of diamond broker Vallabhai Gadhia (48) at Saifee Hospitalas brought the number of fatalities from the bombings that wracked the diamond industry to 25, IDEX Online reported.
Gadhia's leg was fractured as a result of the explosion. The broker had been in intensive care but was recently moved out of the unit. While he appeared to be recovering, doctors said that gangrene had set in and spread through his leg. Thus, the doctors were compelled to amputate the leg. Shortly after the operation, Gadhia succumbed to a fatal heart attack.
