US Marshal to Auction 43.51-Carat Yellow Diamond

A 43.51-carat yellow diamond is being put for sale on an online auction site by the US Marshal, news outlets report.
The diamond, a modified brilliant cut, measures 25.7 mm X 18.11mm X 10.78mm. Its color is described as Fancy Intense Yellow and its clarity is graded Flawless.
According to ToledoontheMove.com, the diamond – which was the property of Paul Monea, who was convicted of money laundering and sentenced to 150 months in prison – will be sold on bid4assets.com starting September 6.
The diamond has been valued at $15.4 million. Potential bidders must place a $180,000 deposit just to participate in the auction, and the minimum bid has been set at $900,000.
