China Crude Iron Output Up 15.5% In July

August 12 – Domestic crude steel output in July grew 15.5 percent to 59.3 million tons with average daily output of 1.92 million tons, a new record low, reports yicai.com, citing the National Bureau of Statistics. In the first seven months, the output of crude steel hit 41.36 million tons, an increase of 10.3 percent. All percentage changes cited in this article are year-on-year.
In July, China produced some 55.06 million tons of crude iron, an increase of 17.3 percent. The figure for first seven months grew 9.6 percent to 379.33 million tons.
Output of steel materials in July rose 14.9 percent to 75.72 million tons. For first seven months, output of steel materials hit 514.01 million tons, raising 13 percent from same period a year ago.
