Diamonds were Dubai's No. 1 imported and re-exported good in the first five months of the year, trade news outlets report.



Dubai imported $8.44 billion worth of rough and polished diamonds during the period reported and re-exported diamonds worth over $9 billion.



Gold was the second most valuable import commodity, with over $8 billion brought into Dubai, and also the top export ($6 billion), followed by oil ($408 million.)



Dubai's top trading partner was India, with total trade in the first five months totaling over $23.6 billion.
