IGE Resources AB plans to sell its Longatshimo River diamond project in the
Democratic Republic of Congo, the company has announced.
The divestment is pending local approval. IGE is asking a relatively modest amount for the project, but will receive royalties when future owners begin diamond production.
Acting CEO Thomas Carlsson said that selling the Longatshimo River project allowed IGE to meet its financial obligations and focus on its other projects – namely the Bakerville and Harts River diamond projects in South Africa and Tshikapa in the DRC.
Bakerville, Harts River, and Tshikapa contain over six million carats of rough diamond resources.
