Sandstone Quarry

To obtain underground sandstone process of digging, blasting or cutting is used. This process is called quarrying and the pit or open excavation from which the stone is obtained is called Quarry. Once the sandstone is obtained it is further processed to make it final for the use. The typical process after quarrying involve the following four steps:
Dressing
Cutting/sawing
Surface grinding and polishing and
Edge-cutting-trimming.
Once the processing is over, the stone is ready for further use.
In India there are various sandstone quarries situated in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, few locations in - Gujrat, Orrisa, Karnatka, Tamil Nadu, Andaman and Nicobar and many more places.
