Alrosa's Rough Diamond Tenders Earn $22.5 Million

Alrosa's latest round of rough diamond tenders earned the company some $22.5 million, with 90% of the lots sold, Russia's government-owned diamond producer announced this week.
The tenders took place in Moscow, Hong Kong, and Tel Aviv from August 29-30 and included a variety of carat weights. Purchases prices exceeded Alrosa's current selling prices by over 5%.
This week, Alrosa announced that its total diamond sales for the first half of 2011 stood at $2.2 billion, with net profit of $568 million, 5.5 times the net profit realized in H1 2010.
