Dutch machine tool manufacturer Unisign reveals that it will exhibit at the upcoming EMO 2011 on a 636sq m stand, the largest one it has had for its participation at the show. Emphasis will be on its new Unipro 5000 vertical high speed 5-axes CNC machining center; the Uniport 7000, said to be the largest machine exhibited at the company's booth or even the show; as well as various spectacular customer applications.
According to Unisign, the Unipro 5000 represents the latest generation of its vertical machining centers. It combines powerful machining capabilities in five axes with highly dynamical machine features and high product accuracy, mainly for producing aerospace components.
The company further says that the concept of the Unipro 5000 is based on moving column machine with swiveling spindle as the fourth axis and a large clamping cube on A-axis as the fifth axis. The machine is constructed in a lightweight and very rigid manner in order to produce to the highest accuracy requirements, even with the high speeds and high accelerations of this machine.
During the EMO, the Unipro 5000 will simulate the manufacturing process of an aerospace wing rib and other structural components. Uniport 7000 is a vertical CNC portal gantry machining center designed to offer flexibility, speed, power, precision, reliability and serviceability. Together with the optional exchangeable machining heads and carousel turning capabilities, this machine is suitable for large voluminous, complex and accurate components.
At the exhibition, the Uniport 7000 will be installed fully and it will simulate the manufacturing process of a customer specific component.
Besides the machines on exhibit, Unisign has a complete product program of high precision machining centers, including the Unicom, which is available as 4- or 5-axes CNC machining center for combined milling, drilling and vertical turning operations and is equipped with a pallet changer, as well as the Univers and Unipent ranges. To draw visitors' attention, Unsign says that it will install a range of customer specific applications on its stand, which ranges from a huge turbo charger for ship engines to a fully assembled railway bogie.
