Post Date: 08 Sep 2011    Viewed: 545

The quality of the rough diamonds recovered from DiamondCorp’s Lace mine in South Africa remains consistent, the company announced in an operations update published Wednesday.

The latest sample has yielded an ore grade of 22 carats per hundred tons (cpht). The total 11,091 tons of kimberlite processed to date at the Lace project have contained 1.235 carats of diamonds. Some 40% of the diamonds are over one-third of a carat in weight and some 80% are deemed gem-quality.

DiamondCorp also announced that it has awarded contracts for drilling on its J-01 and J-05 kimberlites, located near Debswana’s Jwaneng mine in Botswana.

In other company news, President and CEO Dean Taylor is scheduled to present at the annual Rodman & Renshaw Global Investment Conference, to be held in New York from September 11-13. Aside from the presentation, DiamondCorp management will conduct individual meetings on its strategic plans for rough diamond recovery.
