Botswana Diamonds has been awarded a 430 square kilometer diamond exploration license in Cameroon and plans to implement a bulk sampling program in the coming months, the company announced this week in its latest operations report.
This marks the company’s second exploration license in Cameroon. Earlier this year, Botswana Diamonds received permits to explore the Libongo license, an 8,087 square kilometer area adjacent to the Mobilong diamond project.
In addition, the company announced plans to conduct bulk sampling on a number of claims located southeast of Murowa in Zimbabwe. The report noted that the kimberlite is “well delineated” but the quality of the diamonds in the license remains unknown.
