Chris Lynch Joins Rio Tinto Boards as NED

Rio Tinto recently announced that Chris Lynch has joined the boards of Rio Tinto plc and Rio Tinto Ltd. as a non-executive director (NED).
Lynch has reportedly had an extensive career in the mining and metals industry, including seven years at BHP Billiton, where he was CFO and then executive director and group president of Carbon Steel Materials. Prior to this, he spent 20 years with Alcoa Inc. He is currently CEO of Transurban Group and a commissioner of the Australian Football League.

In addition, Chris is a leading figure in the Australian business community, and his appointment reflects the significance of Australia to Rio Tinto’s global operations.
