Machine Tool Orders Up 15.3% On Year In August

TOKYO (NQN)--Machine tool orders rose 15.3% on the year to 98.96 billion yen in August, up for the 21st straight month, according to preliminary data released Thursday by the Japan Machine Tool Builders' Association.
Domestic demand expanded 31.1% to 37.51 billion yen, rising for the 21st consecutive month. Overseas demand rose 7.4% to 61.44 billion yen, up for the 22nd month in a row.
