Sierra Leone's Diamond Production -23% in June

Sierra Leone’s diamond production fell 23 percent year on year to 41,880 carats in June, the country’s central bank reported. Of the total, 28,380 carats were gem quality, compared to 20,200 carats a year earlier.
During the first half of the year, diamond production reached 206,890 carats, of which 117,870 were gem quality.
Separate data showed that diamond exports rose 20 percent to $10.1 million in April, the most recently available monthly figures.
