Taiwan August iron and steel export value down by 3pct - 14 Sep, 2011

According to the statistics released by the Taiwan ministry of finance, Taiwan's iron and steel exports value in August this year amounted to USD 1.71 billion, decreasing by three percent compared to July and up 20% compared to the same month of 2010, while its metal product export value totalled USD 968 million, down by 3.2% compared to the previous month and up 14.7% compared to the same month of 2010.
Meanwhile, in August Taiwan's iron and steel import value increased by 10.5% compared to the previous month and was up 7.2% YoY to USD 1.27 billion, and its metal product import value came to USD 1.17 billion, up 14% MoM and up 9% compared to the same month last year.
