With more than 2,500 stores nationwide, Fastenal has opened a new store in Jackson. According to General Manager John Chandler, the store carries many specialty items that other local stores do not carry.
“We have a variety of products, including fasteners, cutting tools, material-handling tools and equipment, abrasives, safety and welding supplies, janitorial, paints and chemicals, lifting and rigging, and plumbing. I could go on — that’s just a quick overview,” said Chandler. “We offer very competitive pricing, with a wide variety of products, and we will price match as well.”
When asked why Jackson was chosen as the store’s location, Chandler said, “Customers were coming from the Jackson area to our Elk Grove store, creating a demand for our products in this area.”
The store also includes services, such as engineering and lab services, for calibration of testing and measuring equipment, custom manufacturing for hard to find parts, tool and cutter grinding, cut-to-length metal chain and cable, tool and hoist repair and certification, third party logistics, weld-to-length band saws and more.
While the store does cater to industrial plants, machine shops, mines and casinos, they are also open to
the public. The company philosophy is centered on the local store and the community it serves.
“When our customers think of Fastenal, they don’t think of some remote corporation, they think of the people in their local Fastenal store who serve them on a regular basis. So, when you hear us talk about our thousands of stores, keep in mind that we’re not talking about how big we are, we’re talking about how local we are,” said Chandler.
The store is planning a grand opening on Thursday, Oct. 27 with food and vendors available to answer questions from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fastenal is located at 12275 Martell Road, Suite 9, in Jackson, and is open 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, call 257-1443.
