Iran steel exports exceed USD 210mn

An industrial official says total value of steel exports has exceeded 210 million dollars during the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21).
Deputy Minister of Industries, Mines and Trade Khodamorad Ahmadi added on Friday that the value of various steel products had increased between 53-187 percent during the same period, IRNA reported.
''Round bar, warm products and iron beam exports have respectively increased 187, 122, and 121 percent and the volume of export of steel plants has surpassed 291,000 tons in the first five months (March-August) of the current Iranian calendar year (2011-2012),” he noted.
Ahmadi, who also chairs the directorate of Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization, said IMIDRO subsidiaries have increased steel products sales by 26 percent and exports by 187 percent.
Ahmadi said steel products sold on the Tehran stock market between March and August 2011 increased 34 and 55 percent respectively in volume and value compared to the same period last year.
