KaMin LLC Announces Harlan Archer as President

Rankin Hobbs, CEO of KaMin LLC, announced Harlan Archer as President of KaMin LLC effective September 19, 2011. Archer, formerly Vice President of Operations, will provide the overall direction for KaMin LLC and will be charged with the execution of KaMin's business plan. "As he has done throughout his career, Harlan will bring out the best in KaMin's people," says Hobbs.
Archer has served as KaMin's Vice President of Operations since 2008. Prior to KaMin, Archer served in the roles of Director of Operations, Plant Manager, and Production Manager for J.M. Huber Corporation. Prior to J.M. Huber, Archer served the roles of Production Manager, Quality Manager, Productivity Improvement Team Member, and Quality Engineer for ECC International. Prior to ECC, Archer worked at Grumman Aerospace.
Archer received a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mathematics and Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Georgia College and State University, where he earned the MBA Graduate of the Year award. In addition, he completed Emory's Goizueta Business School Mini-MBA program and earned his Quality Engineer certification from the American Society for Quality Control.
"Harlan is well respected by KaMin employees, our customers, the kaolin industry and its communities," says Tom Chambers, Chairman of KaMin LLC. Archer has served roles in the community such as the President of Georgia Mining Foundation and Executive Director of the China Clay Producers Association, Twin City Country Club, and Washington County Chamber of Commerce. Archer was selected as the 2010 Georgia Miner of the Year by the Georgia Mining Association and is currently an Executive Director for the Georgia Mining Foundation.
