Hong Kong Jewelry Show Will Proceed Despite Swine Flu Scare

The Hong Kong Jewelry & Gem Fair will proceed as normal despite the recent worldwide outbreak of the H1N1 influenza virus, known as the swine flu, Idex Online reported.
The Hong Kong Jewelry & Gem Fair is scheduled to taker place at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre from June 18 – 21, with over 1,100 exhibitors from 30 countries and regions.
The organizers also issued guidelines for health and hygiene during the event in an effort to prevent attendees from catching and spreading the virus. Health measures at the convention center will include hygiene counters and face masks for those who wish wear them, and an on-site medical team which will be available during the show.
The show's organizers said in a statement they will "keep a close eye on the situation and will follow the health and precautionary guidelines issued by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Department of Health in Hong Kong or the Ministry of Health of the PRC to ensure a safe and healthy June Hong Kong Jewelry & Gem Fair."
