Abstract In order to study the differences of FeNi30 powder catalyst made by gas- and water- atomization methods, powder catalysts were investigated by laser particle size analyzer, SEM, XRD, DSC etc. The results indicate that the content of fine powders in water-atomized. Powder is larger than that in gas-atomized power which exhibits a spherical shape and narrow size distribution; Powders made by water-atomization are non-regular shape; XRD patterns revealed that the phase composition of both samples is single face-centered cubic structure; The impurities of water-atomized powder is more than gas-atomized powder.
