1895 Daniel Swarovski establishes a factory for the production of crystal jewelry stones made of crystal glass in Austria in the town of Wattens in Tyrol.
1917/1919 Swarovski markets the grinding and dressing tools it has developed under the brand name of TYROLIT.
In 1919 the TYROLIT company is founded and the brand registered and protected.
1950 Move from Wattens to Schwaz in Tyrol. A total of 150 employees produce 400 tons of grinding tools
1952 Appearance on the market of the first Secur cut-off and rough grinding wheels with glass fabric reinforcement-this lays the foundation stone for the subsequent rapid growth of the industry.
1967 Production of diamond grinding wheels for precision machining starts.
1970 Production of diamond circular saws for the construction industry starts .
1977 Opening of the company's own plant for the production of diamond and CBN grinding tools.
1981 Installation of a scanning electron microscope with the largest test chamber in Europe.
1984 Start of the mass production of laser-welded diamond tools for the natural stone industry.
1992 Opening of the plant for high-precision diamond and CBN grinding tools in Stans, Tyrol.
1993 Construction of a new warehouse and shipping facilities. A computer-controlled high bay warehouse for around 7,000 pallets optimizes logistics.
1996 Construction and start-up of the Brazilian production facilities for CBN grinding tools and materials.
1998 Setting up of the most modern production facilities in the world for conventional ceramic-bonded grinding tools at Schwaz/Tyrol.
2003 Start-up of the TYROLIT affiliate Tyrolit Thai Diamond in the province of Rayong in Thailand.
2004 Opening of the new headquarters of the Tyrolit group in Hall in Tirol, Austria.
2005 Around 4,030 employees in 22 plants in 13 countries produce grinding, sawing, cutting and drilling tools achieve sales of around 498 million Euro. TYROLIT is the undisputed leader in this technology.
